Child Safety

The Youth Pride Network is committed to safety, wellbeing, and empowerment of children and young people.

Our statement

YPN committed to the safety, wellbeing, and rights of all children and young people, particularly LGBTIQA+ young people across Western Australia.

We work to create safe, inclusive, and affirming spaces where young people feel respected, supported, and able to participate meaningfully in our programs and activities. We do not tolerate discrimination, harassment, or any form of harm.

YPN follows the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations and is committed to embedding child safety into our culture, governance, and everyday practice. This includes safe recruitment, clear codes of conduct, staff training, and strong reporting processes for any concerns.

We actively listen to children and young people and take all concerns about safety seriously. Where needed, we respond in line with WA legal and child protection requirements and seek to ensure appropriate support is provided.

Child safety is everyone’s responsibility at YPN, and we are committed to continually improving how we keep young people safe.
